Không có thời gian chuẩn bị trước khi trả lời

Thời lượng từ 4-5 phút

Giám khảo sẽ giới thiệu và sẽ yêu cầu các bạn giới thiệu mình và xác nhận danh tính. Sau đó, giám khảo sẽ hỏi về các chủđề quen thuộc trong cuộc sống gia đình, bạn bè, việc làm, sở thích,…

Part 2:

Speech/Monologue - Dạng độc thoại

Các bạn sẽ được nhận 1 topic card (tờ đề bài) kèm theo các key points (ý chính) đề bài gợi ý bao gồm trong bài nói

Các key points tương ứng với các câu hỏi Wh-

Thời lượng: 1 phút chuẩn bị, 1-2 phút nói

Thí sinh được trao một mẩu giấy và cây bút và yêu cầu nói về một chủ đề cụ thể trong vòng tối đa 2 phút. Trước khi nói các bạn sẽ có 1 phút để chuẩn bị trước, sau đó giám khảo sẽ hỏi thêm 1 số câu hỏi về chủ đề này và kết thúc chuyển sang Part 3.

翻轉視界 18 Changing Perspective

There's not just one road to the destination, but many roads. You just need to take the little step that’s right in front of you, and then the next one, and a few years down the track, they will seem like massive achievements.

通往目的地的路不止一條，有很多路可走。你只需要邁出眼前這一小步，然後再邁出下一步，幾年下來，將會成為巨大成就。

I didn’t meet my father until I was 6 years old. My parents had a comfortable, middle-class life in Shanghai, or as close as you could get under communism. But they always wanted to live overseas, and just before I was born, my dad came to Sydney to set things up. I don’t know why, but in the end, my mother and I didn’t join him until I was 6.

I ended up having to move school 3 times before I came to Balwyn Primary School, which was relatively multicultural.

I had started learning the violin from the age of 2.5 years old and even with all the troubles that were going on in my life, had somehow still kept up with it. As a result, I got a music scholarship to Trinity Grammar School. But even there I used to get into quite a lot of mischief, and would often skip school to go to the movies.

Receive the Royal Crown

“Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, came to go in to the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king’s eunuch, the keeper of the women, advised. Esther obtained favor in the sight of all those who looked at her. So Esther was taken to King Ahasuerus into his royal house in the tenth month, which is the month Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign. The king loved Esther more than all the women, and she obtained favor and kindness in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown on her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti.” (Esther‬ ‭2:15-17‬ ‭WEB‬)

There was a huge beauty pageant being held to choose a new queen.

Each contestant could choose an item to bring with her into the king’s presence.

All the young women brought what they thought would please the king, based on their own assumptions and understanding.

However, Esther was uncommon. She trusted the king’s eunuch and brought what he recommended, into the king’s presence.

In this story, Esther is a picture of a believer, the eunuch represents the Holy Spirit, and the king represents God the Father.

Do you lean on your own understanding or do you trust the leading of the Holy Spirit?

How do you obtain great favor from God? It is by humbly relying on the Holy Spirit and not by trusting in your self-efforts, intelligence, beauty, skills, or strength.

When you lean on Him, you receive the power of God into your circumstances.

The one who relies completely on the Holy Spirit receives the royal crown on the head.

“Wisdom is supreme. Get wisdom. Yes, though it costs all your possessions, get understanding. Esteem her, and she will exalt you. She will bring you to honor, when you embrace her. She will give to your head a garland of grace. She will deliver a crown of splendor to you.”” (Proverbs‬ ‭4:7-9‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

The Holy Spirit gives you godly wisdom whereas the world’s wisdom is earthly, sensual, and even demonic. God’s crowns you with grace and splendor (every good thing). This is how you reign in life!

JR又來了！這次是當面試官！
老實說，我第一次面試時（非老師工作）就是帶著「零經驗」的履歷去的，
那時真的就是憑著我的「一片真心」打動面試官！（哈哈！😜）
我記得我大致上就是如影片中這樣說的！

稍微解釋一下這堂課你需要做到的步驟：
Step 1: 這一步中沒有給中文字幕，希望藉此能打開耳朵仔細聽，試著理解內容。
Step 2: 第二步的repetition（反覆練習）和imitation（模仿）非常重要，每個人花的時間都會不同，不要覺得花上好多天練習就表示練習沒效率，反而，這會是你發覺自己進步很多、單字記的很熟、句型馬上蹦出來的關鍵！
Step 3: 在這一步驟中，我把我的部分換成靜音，讓你好好展現練習的成果，和JR模擬一場真實的面試喔！

對話全文：
JR: How are you doing this morning?
Cat: I’m doing great. Thank you.
JR: So, tell me something about yourself
Cat: Sure. I started off my career as an English teacher five years ago. I mainly taught Elementary school kids. One of my major duties was to communicate with anxious parents, and to talk to them about their kid’s behavior at school. I believe it took a lot of patience and communication skills to be able to pull it off.
JR: Catherine, you do know this is a marketing company right? Marketing and education are totally different fields. Why do you think you’re qualified to fit in this position as a marcom specialist?
Cat: Well, I’m the person who welcomes challenges. I understand I’m trying to get into a totally different field, however, I’ve always had a passion for digital marketing. In my spare time, I would read books or study articles about content marketing, influencer marketing, SEO and all that. I even worked part time to manage C’s English Corner’s fan page.
JR: Oh, C’s English Corner, that’s very very famous in Taiwan. So, why should we hire you again?
Cat: I don’t have much hands-on experience. But working as an English teacher in the past five years, I’m pretty confident to say that I’m an observant person with flexibility and good communication skills.
I know I am new to this field, but I am willing to take on an entry-level position and work my way up.

In my opinion, there is plenty of information out there to help an average Vietnamese student to get accepted into a prestigious school or to successfully secure a scholarship to study abroad. What happens then? I believe there is not as much information with regard to internship and full-time job applications. I remember when I first started finding out how to apply for internships and work experience, everything was a total mess and I did not know where to start. So, me being that super old postgraduate student, who is about to leave school, decided to make this short video that basically summarises the whole process of a typical internship/job application procedure. Hopefully, this animated clip can provide students a comprehensive overview of the entire seemingly complicated process. From there on, you may have a clearer picture of everything - where you stand, and how you can move forward. English subtitles are of course included.

I want to talk a bit about this video now. I have to say, this has been the worst video to make! The hours spent on drawing the damn pictures, the ridiculous amount of storage I needed to save all the files for editing, the annoying colour correction that is impossible to get right. But this has been one of my new year's resolutions - to make a drawing video and finally I have achieved that. Special thanks go out to firstly Han N Duong for helping me with all the logistics and part of the (fail) editing. Thanks to Trang Nguyen and Hoang Phong from LOK Vietnam who gave me tips on how to make these sort of videos. The lighting turned out horribly wrong though but I gave it my best shot. Thanks to Barney Yau and Joyce Chan who doubted my drawing skills... Thanks to Andy Tuan Anh and Khai Dao for being those career-driven kids, your cases provided good examples for the video. I'm sure you will help to contribute towards the comments section :) Last thank goes out to all of my previous Art teachers =))
